New Features Now Live!

announcement Feb 10, 2025

This month we have a round of smaller updates and general platform-wide improvements to help your team be more personal with things like celebrations, surveys, onboarding sequences, and more. First off, we have...

Rotating messages for work anniversaries

Click on the 'edit message' button from the work anniversaries part of Slack to set this up. By adding additional lines in the text area at the top and then checking the box for 'rotate messages', CultureBot will automatically rifle through all the messages you've added and pick one at random when it is time to share a new work anniversary on your team.

Year-long date selection for reactions reporting

If you've used the reaction reporting recently, you will have faced a 30-day restriction on how far you can go back with the reporting. Now, that restriction is gone. You are able to report on reactions (from any message CultureBot sends) as far back as a full year.

Partial admin rights for custom celebrations

Partial admin rights are now extended to custom celebrations. What does this mean? Partial admins with these rights can view and edit all custom celebrations (mainly used for holidays and awareness days).

'Send to channel' option for work anniversaries

Similar to birthdays, you can now collect start dates from your employees by channel. For the channel you select, CultureBot will message the employees who are a part of that channel for their start date.

eNPS Score Graph

If you use our surveys feature and choose to use an 'eNPS' template, you will automatically receive the new capability of graphing out this score (example shown below). For anyone who responds to your survey, their submission will automatically be included/calculated in the final score.

Experiences - sending messages as the admin instead of CultureBot

This one is relatively straightforward, but a good one for personalization sake. If you're utilizing CultureBot experiences today for onboarding or otherwise, you can check this option to have the messages that are sent out be sent from you (instead of from the bot itself).

Group messages to new hires (experiences)

Group message to new hires are great if you're using a class based system to onboard new hires. The best way to describe this is to imagine you have 10 people starting next Monday, do you want to send them all 10 different DM's or 1 DM as an entire group? The latter is what this functionality now provides.

Ability to send surveys as an admin instead of the bot

Similar to the option above for experiences, this one also lets you send surveys as you, instead of as the bot. Do be careful with this one - if you send surveys to hundreds of people in one fell swoop, you will also create hundreds of DM's in Slack.

Other (Smaller) Additions:

  • Turning off the shoutouts points footer – this can be enabled by request (to your account manager). Having this turned on will hide the points disclosure at the bottom of every shoutout that is sent with points.
  • Sending celebrations collections messages from admin – also enabled by request to your account manager, this feature will make it so when new hires join your Slack workspace, they will get the message to enter their birthday and/or work anniversary directly from you instead of CultureBot!

Send shoutouts to multiple channels at a time

When sending a shoutout (using the /shoutout command) you can now select more than one channel!

Zoom integration (for employee intros)

When setting up employee intro instances, you are now able to select 'Zoom' as an option for the meeting service. When the intro pairings go out, you will then be able to integrate directly with Zoom via a button that will appear at the bottom of the pairing UI. To learn more about how the Zoom integration works, view the full guide here.

New Water Cooler Topics

We've added a fresh lot of topics to both the 'Food' and 'Music' categories for water cooler... over 100 new topics in fact!

Custom Banner Graphics (for Shoutout Day & Surveys)

Now you are able to replace the standard (default) CultureBot graphic that appears on shoutout day messages, as well as surveys (when they are sent). To do so for shoutout days, just visit the shoutouts section of the Slack app and then click on 'enable shoutout day', scroll down and click on 'edit image' (shown below).

For surveys, when you are creating a new campaign you will see a new field here:

Send Shoutouts as the Bot

For admins only, you will now see a new checkbox option at the bottom of a shoutout modal called "send message as the bot" – this will send the shoutout message itself as the name you have for the bot.

As always, if you have any questions or curiosities about the items above, please don't hesitate to reach out to your account manager or our support team at support(at)getculturebot.com!
