Every People leader I talk with wants the same thing: a workplace where people feel seen, heard, and connected all year long, with leadership involved but not overwhelmed. Building the systems behind that kind of culture takes real work.

This quarter, we focused on CultureBot product updates that make those systems easier to set up, so you can get proactive about culture without adding more to your plate.

If you only try three, make it these:

1. Engagement Pulse ↓: hear how your people feel while there’s still time to act
2. Digests ↓: make the moments that matter impossible to miss
3. Nudges ↓: turn recognition into a habit on every team
Bonus for Teams: Employee Intros ↓ comes to Microsoft Teams

Engagement Pulse: Hear How Your People Feel While There’s Still Time to Act

Most teams still rely on an engagement survey once or twice a year. It’s a 30-plus question behemoth that takes weeks to build and chase responses for, and the results can feel so overwhelming that it’s hard to know what to act on.

Engagement Pulse makes listening a weekly habit. Your people answer five quick statements in Slack, about a minute every week or two. You spot a dip the week it starts and walk into leadership meetings knowing how people feel today.

And when someone leaves a comment, you can answer it. They get your reply as a Slack DM and can write back, and their name stays hidden unless they choose to share it. Imagine an employee says their workload isn’t sustainable. You reply that afternoon, they tell you the one change that would help, and everyone learns that honest feedback here leads somewhere.

What you get

• No survey to write. Statements come from a bank of 98 we wrote across ten pillars of engagement, from Recognition to Wellbeing, and rotate so nobody sees repeats.
• A real-time read on engagement. Scores for each pillar and an overall score, compared with 30 days earlier, plus your eNPS every month.
• Two-way conversations. Full admins reply to comments in Slack, and several leaders can join the same conversation.
• Leaders in the loop. A scorecard and every new comment can post to a private Slack channel for your exec team or managers.
• Privacy built in. Scores only show once at least 5 people have answered.
• Available on Pro, and free for any workspace with fewer than 25 people.

Digests: Make the Moments That Matter Impossible to Miss

A teammate stays late to fix a customer issue and gets a thank-you in Slack. Six people see it, but their manager doesn’t. Next week, someone hits their fifth work anniversary, and half the office finds out the day after.

Digests put those moments in the spotlight on a schedule you choose, right where people already read. When everyone sees your team’s bright spots, they start finding more of them.

Managers get a front-row seat, too: a private Slack message with their team’s shoutouts and upcoming celebrations. They walk into 1:1s knowing who to thank and plan for milestones before the day arrives, without one more task on their list.

What you can set up

• A company-wide recognition roundup. A monthly “Culture Carriers” post in #general with standout shoutouts, values in action, and a leaderboard. (Shoutout Digest, Standard and Pro)
• A look ahead at celebrations. A Monday post in each office channel with the week’s birthdays and work anniversaries, so the team can plan a card or a lunch. People who opted out are never listed. (Celebration Digest)
• A private recap for every manager. Their team’s shoutouts and upcoming celebrations, for direct reports or their whole org. (Digests for Managers, Standard and Pro)
• Set it once. Digests run on their own and skip any week with nothing to share.

Nudges: Turn Recognition Into a Habit on Every Team

Every recognition program has a great launch week. A month later, the same five people send most of the shoutouts and some teams have gone quiet. People still care about each other; they just get busy.

Nudges give recognition a cue. A Friday prompt like “Who made your week easier?” gets everyone thinking back on the week. When a team, department, or manager goes quiet, a nudge goes just to them, so you can bring them back without nagging the teams already doing great.

Employees see that leadership wants recognition on every team. Managers get a quick private reminder to thank their people. And you keep recognition growing across the company without chasing anyone down.

Ways to use nudges

• A weekly prompt for the whole company, one channel, or selected departments.
• A wake-up call for quiet teams that goes out only when shoutouts stop for the number of weeks you choose.
• A private reminder for managers who haven’t recognized anyone on their team in a while.
• A light touch. Nobody gets more than one nudge DM a day, and anyone can turn them off.
• Nudges replace Shoutout Day and pair perfectly with a Shoutout Digest. Standard and Pro.

Bonus: Employee Intros Comes to Microsoft Teams

One of our most beloved Slack features is now available in Microsoft Teams. Employee Intros makes it easy to run an employee matching program: you set the goal and the cadence, and CultureBot does the rest. Use it for cross-department connections, new hire cohorts, mentorship circles, book clubs, ERG programming, and more.

CultureBot pairs coworkers on a regular schedule, opens a private chat for them, and helps them find a time to meet. All they have to do is show up. Over time, people know each other across teams, new hires have a network in their first month, and connection doesn’t depend on who sits near whom.

What you get

• Your rhythm. Run intros weekly, every couple of weeks, monthly, or quarterly.
• Your format. Pair up everyone in a channel each round, or run a lottery where one small group is picked each time.
• Easy scheduling. CultureBot can find a time in Outlook, or book the meeting with a Teams link for you.
• A gentle follow-up. Partway through, CultureBot checks whether the group has met and sends a friendly reminder if not.
• A personal invite. Send intros from a leader, like your CEO, so the invitation feels personal.
• Room to opt out. Anyone can snooze or step out of future intros.
